Program Worker Course List and Prerequisites

To view Microsoft Learning Self-Paced E-Learning Courses, you will need:

  • A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
  • Macromedia Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
  • Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
  • A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
  • A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
  • Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.

    Microsoft Office Specialist: Outlook 2003

    Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel 2003
    Time and Task Management Using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (Course 4006)
    This course provides students with a better hands-on understanding of how to manage time more effectively, define tasks more accurately, and process incoming information more efficiently, using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. Students learn how to manage schedules, projects and assignments, and create and respond to e-mail.

    Summarizing Microsoft Office Excel 2003 Data to Make Better Business Decisions (Course 4003)
    This course is designed to help students understand the role of business intelligence in today's workplace and introduces the use of Excel in business intelligence analysis. Students learn techniques in data summary, display, data lists and PivotTables.

    • Experience tracking project budgets and chart trends.
    • Experience with the basic features and tools of Microsoft Excel.
    Project and Team Management Fundamentals
    This course reviews basic concepts and terminology for project management by providing theory and core methodology individuals need to manage projects or participate on project teams. This course also provides training on how to use Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Excel 2003 to better manage projects, assignments and communications. The course focuses on the conceptual underpinnings that students must know to use any project management software application effectively.

    This course introduces the basic features and tools of Microsoft Office Word 2003, including working with documents, editing and proofreading documents, changing the appearance of documents, presenting information in tables and columns, working with graphics and charts, collaborating with others, previewing and printing a document, and previewing and creating web pages.
